Two dining rooms and a bar that gets it right

Big Nik’s has two dining rooms, so you’re less likely to get stuck waiting for a table than you would at a smaller spot. The bar is the real draw. It’s a very nice bar, and it doesn’t try too hard. You can sit down and feel comfortable, and it still looks like someone put thought into it.

That mix is hard to pull off. Plenty of places end up too polished or too rough. This one lands in the middle, which is where most of us want to be on a night out.

What we ordered at Big Nik’s

I ordered the shrimp tacos. We also had the pasta salad, and I had a jalapeno margarita. It was good, all of it.

The jalapeno margarita is the one I’d point you toward if you like a little heat in your drink.

We only tried a few things, so I can’t speak for the whole menu. Check the Big Nik’s Facebook page for what’s on right now, since a new restaurant tends to tweak things in the first few months.

The property sits on the water. The building itself sits back a bit, so it’s more water-adjacent than waterfront. Still, being next to the water is a nice bonus for a Stevens Point bar.
