Nestled in the heart of Central Wisconsin, JoJo’s Jungle is more than just a playground—it’s a tribute to a brave little boy named Josiah “JoJo” Hoeter. Born with MECP2 Duplication Syndrome, JoJo faced significant challenges throughout his short life. Despite never walking, talking, or gaining any kind of independence, his radiant smile and uplifting spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. JoJo’s Jungle stands as a testament to his courage and the love of a community determined to create a space where children of all abilities can play together.  

A Playground for Every Child

JoJo’s Jungle is a unique playground designed with inclusivity at its core. Whether your child is two or twelve, there’s something here for everyone. The playground features equipment tailored for two distinct age groups: 2-5 years old and 5-12 years old. Each play area is thoughtfully designed to ensure that children can engage in fun, stimulating activities that cater to their developmental stages. Features for Younger Children (2-5 years old) – Safe, low-height structures for climbing and exploring – Interactive play panels to spark imagination and creativity – Swings and slides designed for little ones Features for Older Children (5-12 years old) – Challenging climbing walls and rope courses – Dynamic slides and swings for more adventurous play – Space for group activities and socializing

A Place for Families JoJo’s Jungle isn’t just for kids—it’s a place where families can come together. The park is managed by the Wausau and Marathon County Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department, ensuring it’s maintained to the highest standards. Adult supervision is strongly recommended to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors.

Plan Your Visit to JoJo’s Jungle

JoJo’s Jungle is open daily from 6 am to 11 pm, providing ample time for families to visit, whether for an early morning play session or an evening adventure. Directions to JoJo’s Jungle JoJo’s Jungle is located in the beautiful city of Wausau, Wisconsin. To get there, follow these simple directions: – From the North: Take US-51 S to Wausau. Take exit 192 and continue on Bridge St. Drive to Sherman St. – From the South: Take I-39 N/US-51 N to Wausau. Take exit 192 and continue on Bridge St. Drive to Sherman St. – **From the East:** Take WI-29 W to Wausau. Take the exit toward WI-52 W. Continue on WI-52 W. Drive to Sherman St. – From the West: Take WI-29 E to Wausau. Take exit 164 from WI-29 E. Continue on Stewart Ave. Drive to Sherman St. Once you arrive, you’ll find ample parking and clear signage directing you to the playground.
